The Old Vic

The Duchess of Malfi

A bloody tale of love, corruption and revenge

Eve Best returns to The Old Vic, in John Webster's great Jacobean tragedy, The Duchess of Malfi, directed by Jamie Lloyd.

She last appeared at The Old Vic in London and on Broadway opposite Kevin Spacey in A Moon for the Misbegotten in the 2006/2007 Season.

Webster’s poetic masterpiece tells the dark and bloody story of the recently widowed Duchess. As jealousy, madness and bloodshed surround her, the Duchess retains her strength and dignity, even in the face of death.

Jamie Lloyd's credits include She Stoops to Conquer (National Theatre), Inadmissible Evidence, Passion and Piaf (Donmar Warehouse), The Faith Machine and The Pride and The Little Dog Laughed, Three Days of Rain, The Lover & The Collection in the West End.

Olivier Award winning actress Eve Best's credits include The Old Vic's A Moon for the Misbegotten (Drama Desk & Outer Critics' Circle Awards for Best Actress). Much Ado About Nothing (The Globe). TV and Film credits include the Duchess of Windsor in the Oscar winning film, The King's Speech and the hit American television drama Nurse Jackie.
